• Coaching

Helping people understand what they can bring, and trust themselves to bring it.

Thoughtful, game-based coaching for players, teams and coaches.

Good coaching is never one-size-fits-all.

Sometimes a team needs a fresh voice on court. Sometimes a coach has an idea but needs help turning it into a purposeful session. Sometimes a club or school wants experienced support with a particular group, skill or challenge.

I offer bespoke coaching for players, teams, schools, clubs and coaches, on court and online. That might mean delivering a guest session or development block, creating a workshop around a specific need, reviewing a session plan or helping another coach work out how to move their players forward.

Whatever the format, the work is collaborative, game-based and shaped around the people in front of us. No generic drills dropped into somebody else’s environment. We start with what you need, what you’re seeing and what you want to change.

What Happens?

Every piece of work starts with understanding what you need, then shaping the right support around your people, your environment and what you want to change.

What This Is. And What This Isn’t.

People First

We don’t coach netball players; we coach people who play netball. Every player arrives with different experiences, strengths, confidence and reasons for being there. Good coaching starts by noticing the person, not simply the position they occupy or the performance they produce.

Game-Based

Players learn to play by seeing, deciding and doing. My sessions use games and realistic challenges to create the problems players encounter on court, giving them opportunities to explore solutions, adapt and understand what works, rather than simply repeating a drill because it looks tidy.

Clarity + Purpose

Every activity should have a reason for being there. Players and coaches should understand what we’re working on, why it matters and how it connects to the game. Feedback is specific, useful and focused on helping people recognise what they can do next.

Safe To Grow

Development requires people to try things they cannot do perfectly yet. I aim to create an environment where mistakes can be examined rather than feared, questions are welcomed and high standards sit alongside genuine care. When people feel safe enough to get things wrong, they become brave enough to grow.

Whether we work together on court or online, the aim is to leave you with greater clarity, renewed purpose and ideas you can genuinely use. Thoughtful coaching, shaped around your people and your environment, with every session connected to what comes next.

A fresh pair of eyes on your season.

The season is underway, which means you now know more than you did in pre-season. You’ve seen how the group responds, which ideas translate into matches, and where the same problem keeps appearing.

Perhaps your sessions need more purpose or more game. Maybe you know what you want players to improve but aren’t sure how to create the right challenge. Your plan might work beautifully on paper but not quite land with the people in front of you, or your team may benefit from a fresh voice and a different way of seeing the game.

From the week beginning 12 October, I’m opening a small number of early-season coaching appointments:

Online Session-Plan Review - £45
Send me your plans and context in advance, then we’ll spend 50 minutes working through its purpose, flow, progressions and connection to the game. I’ll follow up with concise notes and practical next steps.

On-Court Coaching
A bespoke session, workshop or development block designed around your players, environment and priorities. Costs depend on the format, duration and location, so tell me what you need, and we’ll shape it together.

Bring me into your season.

A little bit about Tam…

I’m Tamryn Settle, an experienced netball coach working across club, university, school, regional and performance environments. I’m Director of Netball at Thames Mavericks, Head Coach at Reading University, Regional Coach at Weston Park Blades and Assistant Coach with RAF Netball’s elite squads, among other roles. I hold my Level 2 coaching qualification and am currently working towards Level 3.

My coaching is built around clarity, curiosity, and creating an environment where people feel safe enough to get things wrong, and brave enough to grow. Whether I’m working with players on court or helping another coach shape a session, the aim is the same: to help people understand what they can bring, and trust themselves to bring it.
