Coaching can be lonely when the decision is yours.
You might not need another qualification, a generic webinar, or someone telling you what to do. You might just need a thoughtful, experienced person to help you slow the problem down, separate the evidence from the noise, and work out what matters next.
Perhaps you’re trying to select the right seven when every option seems to cost someone something. Maybe the rotations that looked great on paper aren’t working in practice, or you’re preparing for a difficult conversation about playing time, expectations or performance.
You might be balancing development with results, trying to shift something within your team culture or wondering how to reset a player relationship that no longer feels quite right. It could be that a session isn’t landing, or there’s something you’re seeing in matches but don’t yet know how to address, or the uncomfortable feeling that you’re stuck between what different people need.
The problem doesn’t need to be dramatic, neat, or fully formed. If it’s taking up too much space in your head, let’s talk about it. That’s what the conversation is for.
What Happens?
This isn’t another big job for your to-do list and there’s no ongoing commitment. Just one call, and time to talk.
-
Complete a short form so that we both know what we’re here to explore.
-
A focused 50-minute online conversation that works around your diary. We’ll work through what you know, what’s being assumed, what you’re prioritising and who is affected. Plus, we’ll find clarity around what’s next.
-
You’ll receive a concise summary of the central question, your options and the next action you identified, plus two practical GameSense coaching sheets.
What This Is. And What This Isn’t.
Privacy + Focus
This is a private, focused space to think properly about one coaching problem. We’ll slow it down, look at what you know, notice what you may be assuming and explore the people, priorities and consequences involved.
Always Your Decision
I won’t tell you which seven to pick, decide who is right or hand you a beautifully simple answer to a problem that isn’t simple. The decision remains yours. My role is to ask useful questions, challenge your thinking where necessary and help you reach a next step you understand and can stand behind.
Coaching Support
This is coaching support, not therapy, counselling, mediation, legal advice or an HR service. I won’t investigate a complaint, contact your club or speak to any of the players involved. You don’t need to give me anybody’s full name, and players, particularly anyone under 18, should remain anonymous.
One Important Point
Our conversation will be treated as private and won’t be recorded unless we both explicitly agree. The exception is information suggesting that somebody may be at risk of harm. A safeguarding concern cannot remain inside a coaching conversation and must be taken through the appropriate club or governing-body process.
After our call, I’ll send you one concise email capturing the central question, the options or tensions we identified and the next action you chose. This is designed to help you move forward - one problem, one thoughtful conversation and greater clarity about what comes next.
Early-Season Clarity.
The 26/27 season is underway. The plans that looked perfectly sensible in pre-season have now met real matches, real players and real consequences.
Perhaps a rotation isn’t working as expected. A selection decision has become more complicated. The balance between development and performance already feels uncomfortable, or a conversation you hoped you wouldn’t need to have is beginning to feel unavoidable.
This is often when the first early-season wobble arrives - and when one properly focused conversation can stop it from taking over your thinking.
I’m opening five early-season Bring Me Your Problem appointments at £45 each, available from the week beginning 12 October.
Each appointment includes your pre-session reflection, a 50-minute online conversation, a concise follow-up email and two practical GameSense coaching sheets. Bring me your early-season problem.
A little bit about Tam…
I’m Tamryn Settle, an experienced netball coach working across club, university, school, regional and performance environments. I’m Director of Netball at Thames Mavericks, Head Coach at Reading University, Regional Coach at Weston Park Blades and Assistant Coach with RAF Netball’s elite squads, among other roles. I hold my Level 2 coaching qualification and am currently working towards Level 3.
I know what it feels like to be the person responsible for making the decision - and to care deeply about how that decision affects the people involved. I won’t simply hand you my answer; I’ll help you understand your problem, challenge your thinking and reach a decision you can stand behind.
